More crime prevention flyers/leaflets distributed- SPD
In order not to be victimized by criminal elements, the Southern Police District through the District Police Community Relations Division under the headship of PSUPT JENNY DC TECSON and Chief, Police Community Relations of the seven (7) Police Stations under SPD with their respective personnel ; accredited NGOs and volunteer groups have distributed to the public pamphlets, flyers/leaflets on crime prevention and safety tips/measures during the Holy Week and summer vacation. Short lecture were also given to waiting passengers/commuters to bus terminals.
The leaflets/flyers titled “Tips para Iwas-Krimen at sakuna sa Semana Santa contains a checklist of what to do before leaving the house, a list of reminders if traveling by private transport or if commuting and the proper behavior inside churches.
The upcoming annual religious activity and long summer vacation signals the influx of more tourists, balikbayan, devotees, and students who are going home for summer vacation. Hence, this calls for a tighter security measures. We have to enhance our campaign against criminality and intelligence gathering to preempt any untoward incident, the PNP will be on full alert status this holy week.
And as a heed to this call, PCSUPT BENITO C ESTIPONA, had once again reminded the Chiefs of Police to detail more personnel to terminals, airports, MRT/LRT stations, churches, and other places where people are likely to converge to provide visibility and assistance to travelers and devotees. The deployment of the police stations will be beefed up by personnel from the district headquarters. Motorist public assistance centers in major highways or thoroughfares will also be set up to respond to emergencies of the commuters and motorists.
